How to Migrate From GiveWP to SureDonation
A simple guide to migrating your donation data from GiveWP to SureDonation.

Steps
STEP 1
Install SureDonation
Keep GiveWP active for now, we’ll need it during the migration process.
STEP 2
Connect Stripe or PayPal
Authenticate your existing payment account via OAuth in SureDonation settings. No new merchant accounts needed.
STEP 3
Run the GiveWP Import Tool
Bring over your donor records, giving history, and campaign data automatically.
STEP 4
Rebuild Your Campaign Pages
Add SureDonation’s Gutenberg blocks to each page. Most teams rebuild a campaign in minutes.
STEP 5
Test With a Real Donation
Make a small live donation to confirm payments, receipts, and recurring giving all work as expected.
STEP 6
Deactivate GiveWP
Once you’re happy with everything, switch off GiveWP. There’s no forced cutover date, so do this whenever you’re ready.

Things you may want to know
The biggest structural difference is the platform model. Donorbox is a hosted SaaS platform, so your donation forms are embedded via iframe from Donorbox’s servers, and your donor data lives in their system. SureDonation is a native WordPress plugin where forms, donor records, and campaign data all live on your own site.
Recurring donations are part of SureDonation Pro, which is coming soon. If recurring giving is a current requirement, Donorbox includes it free on all plans, including the Standard (no monthly fee) tier.
Donorbox Standard has no monthly fee, but it charges a platform fee of 2.95% to 3.95% per transaction, on top of Stripe or PayPal processing fees. For a nonprofit raising $30,000 per year, that’s approximately $885+ per year in Donorbox platform fees alone, before counting payment processing. Donorbox Pro runs $150/month ($1,800/year) in addition to reduced platform fees of 1.75% to 2%.
Not yet. These are on the roadmap. If your organization needs event registration or membership tiers today, Donorbox includes both on all plans, including the free Standard tier.
Yes. Connect your existing Stripe or PayPal account in SureDonation Settings in a few clicks. No new merchant accounts, no changes to your payment setup.
Yes. SureDonation uses native Gutenberg blocks and works with any block-enabled theme. It fits especially well within the Brainstorm Force ecosystem if you’re already using Astra or other Brainstorm Force tools.
